TNT announce 3Q results

TNT has published a report into the third quarter financial results. The company announced a drop in Group profit by 10% year-on-year for its third quarter compared to the same period for 2008.

Despite of this, CEO Peter Bakker remained upbeat. He said: “In this quarter the trading environment has stabilised further – with some early signs of positive underlying developments. With Q3 being the low volume season, the EBIT of both our divisions is at a satisfactory level.”

Mail statistics showed a decline in line with the global trend, whilst the company’s express sector saw a quarter-on-quarter improvement.
