Three months on – Post&Parcel has really delivered!

Back in September, Triangle announced the launch of Post&Parcel, its all-new information gateway for the mail and express industries worldwide. The site launched on 09/09/09 and in the three months since has developed a strong and unique positioning in the market.

Triangle’s digital director and the brains behind Post&Parcel, Jarek Przybylski, observed: “Our objective with Post&Parcel was to create a single point of reference for this huge and strategically important global industry. The statistics we have seen, and more importantly the quality of the people from around the world who regularly use the site, of which over 80% are in senior or middle management, shows that we are well on the way to achieving that objective.”

Post&Parcel is dedicated to the mail and express industries and features a wide range of innovative content. Apart from the news, features, video interviews with leading industry figures and the rapidly growing Jobs Board, of particular interest is the community area. The site has a number of industry ‘gurus’ as bloggers including Howard Wright, the ex Pitney Bowes and Royal Mail futurist, and the discussion forums are proving particularly valuable for members of the site.

Neil Jackson, chief executive of Triangle commented: “One of the reasons for the success of our industry conferences over the last 25 years has been the environment they give people to network with contacts old and new. Post&Parcel offers the same facility in an online environment, but it’s accessible 24/7.”

For people in the industry the site has proved an invaluable source of information too. Andrew Bernard, chief executive of CitySprint said: “Live and interactive forums such as Post&Parcel provide an opportunity to stay abreast of the ever-changing market conditions whilst actively engaging in comment and discussion with peers. During the Royal Mail dispute we were keen to stay on top of the situation and also wanted to communicate the fact that there were other options for businesses. Due to its reactive and informative nature Post&Parcel enabled us to achieve that.”

The site continues to evolve with additional features planned to enhance both the user experience and provide additional value to its sponsors and supporters. Accenture, Solystic and Western Union have already signed as commercial partners of Post&Parcel and further partnerships for sponsorship and advertising will be agreed in the New Year.

Post & Parcel has a well-deserved right to toot its own horn after this last quarter. The Prescott Report looks forward to continuing to collaborate with this excellent resource, and we’ll focus on projects and developments at the UPU and international traffice, privacy, and address developments.
We have it on good authority that the Consultative Committee of the UPU will devote one whole day at its Spring meeting in April to a Global Address Summit which will be open to all interested persons. Agenda/speakers should issue before end January.
We also have undertaken a commitment to move forward with formation meetings for a private sector Address Association to provide a forum/service for improving postal data provider/private industry exchanges.
Watch this space for further news on all of these topics, and best wishes to Triangle and Post & Parcel for 2010!
