CFH extends environmental commitment with ISO
CFH Total Document Management has extended its environmental commitment with the award of BSI ISO 14001:2004 for its Environmental Management System. The certification complements the company’s FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) accreditations, which it received last year, and recognises the firm’s continued customer focused commitment to sustainable business.
Supported by consultants Abricon, CFH achieved the certification within one year, identifying and encompassing impacts such as supply chain, production systems, waste and energy within its EMS.
Dave Broadway, managing director of CFH, comments, “Achieving ISO 14001has been an extremely valuable experience for us and we are looking forward to continually developing our business in line with the new management system. It is fundamental to demonstrating our continued environmental commitment to our customers.”
CFH, based in Somerset, is one of the UK’s country’s leading secure printers and document management companies. It has recently developed its innovative hybrid mail system, Docmail, which allows customers to create their mail on-line at a secure web portal. The mail is then printed and posted by CFH via its own downstream access facility.
Dave Broadway continues, “As a company we have always taken sustainability extremely seriously, demonstrated by the introduction of our Toptree Initiative in 1997. Our aim to become energy self-sufficient on our 10 acre site hopefully within two years, is a clear commitment to reduce our carbon footprint.
“Our customers are increasingly aware of environmental issues such as supply chain and energy use, and so with ISO14001 certification, together with our existing FSC and PEFC, we are able communicate our commitment clearly.”
