UPS hits top ten for climate innovation

UPS has been ranked ninth among the top 100 global companies selected for the first-ever Climate Innovation Index by Maplecroft. UPS ranked sixth among the largest 100 US companies and was the only transportation company in the Top 10.

Maplecroft rates corporations based on performance in five areas: quality of management on climate issues; mitigation of carbon emissions; carbon reporting; the use of innovative technologies and business practices that capitalise on climate-related opportunities, and “adaption,” which is how companies address climate challenges within their operations. More than 300 companies were ranked.
