Deutsche Post to be asked by cartel office to clarify Transoflex market role

Deutsche Post World Net AG is to be asked by the German Cartel Office to clarify whether or not its parcel unit Transoflex holds a market dominant position, Financial Times Deutschland said, citing a cartel office spokesman.

It said because of this development, it is very likely that Deutsche Post might have to divest its 24.8 pct stake in Transoflex.

The report said although Deutsche Post only holds a minority stake, it controls de facto the management leadership in the unit.

The remaining 75.2 pct is held by a unit of Bayerische Landesbank, it said.
