Buhrs enters into insolvency

Mailing and fulfilment solutions provider Buhr has been declared bankrupt. Buhrs Mailing Solutions BV (the holding company), Buhrs-ITM GmbH and Betron GmbH have entered into insolvency, after its credit facility was terminated by its banking provider.

The company developed and manufactured systems for poly and paper wrapping, envelope inserting and fulfilment.

Michel Moeijes of Lawyers Tanger was appointed administrator in June.

In a joint statement with Joost van der Klooster, Buhrs chief executive, Moeijes said: “During this phase…Buhrs will operate as much as possible under normal conditions. Buhrs is making every effort to avoid delays in delivery; we apologise for any delays that might occur.”

Buhrs already introduced and implemented a global reorganisation programme that began in 2008 and has continued through to 2010. This programme has lead to fixed costs reductions of 40%.

Buhrs currently employs around 250 people.

“Management of Buhrs Mailing Solutions BV is working closely together with the appointed administrator Mr. Moeijes in order to keep the process as efficient as possible on behalf of all stakeholders,” said the statement on the company website.
