DSV increases stake in DPD Denmark

DSV: Additional 66.6% Stake in DPD Denmark
July 5, 2001 — Reuters: “Danish forwarder DSV has acquired the outstanding
66.6 percent stake in parcel distributor DPD Denmark from Germany’s Transit
Transport Flensburg in a deal worth 82 million Danish crowns ($9 million),
the company said in a statement. DSV acquired 33.4 percent in DPD Denmark
when it took over the Danish forwarding group, DFDS Transport Group in 2000.
DPD Denmark is expected to distribute between four and five million parcels
this year, generating a turnover at some 180 million crowns, equivalent to
some eight percent of the Danish market, DSV estimates show.” The article
states, “DPD Denmark is part of the Deutsche Paket Dienst (DPD) grouping
which is some 85 percent controlled by the French post office, La Poste.”
