London — TPG , the Amsterdam-based global mail, express and logistics group,
Wednesday consolidated its drive into southern Europe with the announcement
that it has acquired the remaining 49% of Barlatier, a French logistics
firm.
TPG did not disclose the value of the transaction, which comes one year
after its initial purchase of 51% of Marseilles-based Barlatier.
Barlatier, which specializes in providing logistics for industrial,
electronics, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods companies, generated
revenues of 52 million euros ($44.7 million) last year. It has 700 employees
and operates 17 depots covering 250,000 square meters.
