DHL expands freight network in Georgia

DHL has started the New Year by increasing its portfolio of operations in Georgia. The company is now offering enhanced road freight services to the country by expanding its DHL Euroconnect product.

Via gateways in Vienna and Frankfurt, DHL Freight now provides groupage, or less-than-truckload, services with regular line hauls to and from the Caucasus region.

Thomas George, CEO of DHL Freight, said: “Expanding into this market and other new markets adjacent to Europe, such as Georgia, allows us to serve international companies transporting goods to and from these regions and accompany them as they strengthen their commercial ties there.”

In line with its strategy to bolster profitable growth in new markets, DHL Freight last year already expanded its Euroconnect service to Morocco and Tunisia.

For DHL Freight, Georgia also serves as the gateway to Armenia and Azerbaijan, which are connected through Tbilisi. As with the entire Euroconnect network, track and trace services are available to customers on the new Caucasus trade lane. Freight’s high-quality transport and handling operations as well as cargo security standards apply to all groupage shipments door-to-door.

DHL Euroconnect is the international all-in-one road groupage product for palletized and non-palletized general cargo as well as products requiring special care and compliance, such as hazardous goods (ADR), goods requiring temperature control and high-value shipments.

DHL Freight also offers confirmed door-to-door delivery times with more than 2,000 international regular lines, many of which operate daily.
