TNT helps to host photography exhibition
TNT Malaysia has teamed-up with the Embassy of The Kingdom of Netherlands in Malaysia to host the World Press Photo exhibition. The Exhibition was inaugurated by YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Ng Yen Yen, minister of tourism, Malaysia, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, and will run until January 27.
The World Press Photo Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Its mission is to stimulate the highest quality in photojournalism on an international scale, going beyond geographical, political and cultural boundaries.
The annual World Press Photo Exhibition is the best known of World Press Photo’s activities. Every year following the World Press Photo Contest, the winning images go on tour. The tour programme takes in approximately 100 cities in 45 countries and is still expanding.
“The World Press Photo Foundation is more than a showcase of photojournalism; it is an archive of world history. The Foundation archives are a treasure, the pictures touch you visually and emotionally, they add perspective to news. The images draw you in, take you deeper and make you think- they are not just about showing what we already know, but something that asks more of us. TNT is proud to be associated with this exhibition which is an inspiration to photojournalists across the world.” said Gerry Power, managing director, TNT Malaysia.
