Azerpoct sees growth in services

The national postal operator of Azerbaijan, Azerpoct, has seen a 27% growth in remittances. Statistics provided by the country’s Ministry of Communications and IT confirmed the increase, as well as stating that mail volumes had grown 4.5%.

During 2010, Azerpoct accepted 959,405 money transfers and paid 957,560 transactions

The number of processed parcels, incoming and outgoing, also grew.

The government department was cited as saying: “For the reported term Azerpoct accepted 119,631 domestic parcels and 8,163 international parcels… 22% and 7% respectively more, compared with 2009.”
