Swiss Post Solutions eyes expansion of Irish business

Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) has strengthened its Irish team with the appointment of Dave Feenan as business development manager.

SPS, the outsourced mailroom and document services unit of Swiss Post, has been operating in Ireland since 2008, but Feenan will work to expand its business in the Irish market.

Working alongside area manager Christina Banahan, he will be showing Irish-based companies how to improve the efficiency of their inbound and outbound document handling operations through SPS.

Commenting on his appointment, Feenan said SPS could help reduce financial pressure on Irish businesses during the current economic challenges, by driving down costs and improving service efficiency.

But, he said he aimed to highlight the progression of SPS from being a physical mailroom provider to bringing in new technology to offer a range of integrated mail and document processing services.

He said:”I want to impress on existing and potential clients how we can develop their business. We are are no longer just about the physical mailroom, but through digitisation of mail we can improve the way information flows through the business – creating greater efficiencies, cutting costs and in the end, enabling better decision making.”

Feenan comes from a data management, IT and marketing background, with previous roles including seven years as managing director (Ireland) for global enterprise solutions firm Microgen, before overseeing its acquisition by Anacomp, Inc.

He also brings extensive experience in cloud computing, software as a service (SaaS) and outsourcing operations.

Prior to joining Swiss Post Solutions, Feenan was business development director at UK-based IT company ASPeon Limited.

Charlie Peters, sales and marketing director of Swiss Post Solutions UK and Ireland said: “I am delighted to welcome Dave as Business Development Manager – Ireland, and believe that with his background, we will be primed to seize the opportunities opening up in Ireland. Dave brings a valuable combination of specialist technical knowledge in document management solutions, market experience and strong board level leadership.”
