DHL launches second distribution centre in Antwerp

DHL launches second distribution centre in Antwerp (Tweede distributiecentrum DHL in Antwerpen)
From DE STANDAARD, September 28th, 2001

DHL, the international courier company, on Thursday launched a
second distribution centre in the Antwerp region in Belgium. Apart
from the Aartselaar centre, express mail can now also be distributed
from a centre on Noorderlaan. ‘DHL was increasingly hindered by the busy traffic in and around
Antwerp. It was difficult for couriers to deliver mail on time in
the centre or the port from the centre in Aartselaar’, CEO Frans
Beuselinck said. Noorderlaan is near to the port, the city centre,
the Antwerp ring road and the Albert channel. DHL employs 3,700
people. The largest distribution centre in Belgium is in Brussels. Abstracted from De Standaard
