Securicor delivers solution for online auction house

CUSTOMERS OF THE UK’S online auction house, QXL.com, can now request specific times for the delivery of goods to their home addresses as QXL.com has teamed up with Securicor Omega Express to offer an unrivalled range of delivery solutions.
Handling thousands of parcel deliveries every week, it is expected that the new flexi-ble range of delivery times offered will boost overall cus-tomer satisfaction and increase online spending, as well as pave the way to better home delivery services e-industry-wide.
QXL.com customers ini-tially bid for items featured on the QXL.com website. Customers are then notified via e-mail if their bid has been accepted and a delivery despatch date is given.

According to Jim Rose, chief executive of QXL.com:
“Online retailers need to have a decent delivery service in operation. Assuming that cus-tomers can receive goods at work is not always a feasible option with large orders, and many work places now refuse to accept such deliveries, cit-ing security and space as the
reason. By working with Securicor Omega Express, we believe we have the most effective delivery services available.
“Rather than be forced to take time off work, our cus-tomers now have the benefit of a convenient home delivery service by receiving goods when and where they want them,” he added.
“With a rapidly growing membership, we are con-stantly researching our cus-tomers’ needs to ensure they get the best online and offline service available,” he said.
