Postcomm ponders Consignia controls
THE BRITISH POSTAL REGULATOR, Postcomm is considering imposing new service stan-dards and price controls on Consignia.
This coincides with the pub-lishing of Postcomm’s first annual report
Postconun chainnan Gra-ham Corbett says: “Our first year has been about laying foundations, licensing Con-signia, understanding the structure of the market, and above all listening to users, operators, the workforce and to the many organisations which responded to our consultation documents.”
He adds: “We are now in a position to build on those foundations.”
Among the suggestions are new service standards for Con-signia, induding the possibility of compensation arrangements.
Also, work has started on developing a framework for assessing what controls are to be placed on the prices that it can charge customers which are unable to benefit from effective competition.
