KLM raises cargo rates

KLM raises cargo rates

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, ranked fourth amongst European airlines, has announced that its cargo rates are to increase by as much as 7% from the beginning of November. (10/1/2001)

Rates for cargo shipped between Europe and North America will increase by 5%. Other routes to destinations such as Mexico, Asia and the Middle East, will see rises of between 5% and 7%.

Some analysts feel that rises of this size may lead some overseas shippers to look for cheaper forms of transport such as ships, trucks and rail.
