Barbour signs contract with Omega Express

BARBOUR AND SONS, makers of the famous waxed jacket, has signed a year-long distribution contract with Securicor Omega Express.
Under the deal Barbour products delivered via the carrier’ s European service – Euro
Express – on a two-three day, door-to-door service to retail outlets throughout France.
Under the deal Omega Express collects the goods from Barbour’s head office and manufacturing site in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, and delivers them to sister company, Ducros Euro Express in Paris. Ducros then completes the delivery by distributing the parcels, estimated at around 7,000 a year, to retail outlets, all within 48 to 72 hours.
The European contract has grown out of a successful domestic service that Omega Express has provided for Barbour for a number of year, said David Robinson, supply chain manager for Barbour.
“Our domestic customers are becoming increasingly interested in the business
opportunities that Europe has to offer,” commented John Hogan, chief executive of Securicor Omega Express.
