Pan Nordic Logistics Seeks Int'l Partnership

Pan Nordic Logistics Seeks Int’l Partnership
October 11, 2001 — Herbert Nielsen, Reuters: “Pan Nordic Logistics (PNL) is maintaining its strategy of joining a major international alliance before the year-end, but this will not be with France’s Chronopost, PNL’s chairman Karre Frydenberg said. PNL was formed by the Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish post offices but today it was announced that Post Sweden – following Finland – is leaving the group from January next year. The Swedish post office said it is linking with La Poste to provide rapid and express parcels services in the Baltic states and Scandinavia. It will also benefit from the international network operated by Chronopost and FedEx Corp. ‘Denmark and Norway remain behind PNL which was never seen as simply a Nordic, or Scandinavian network,’ Frydenberg, who is also Post Norway’s managing director, told Reuters from Oslo on Thursday. He said PNL’s aim has always been to join a major international postal alliance, and even without the Swedish post office’s volumes, PNL will still be seen an ‘attractive’ partner.”
