FedEx Freight added to FedEx electronic shipping services

FedEx has added its FedEx Freight service to the electronic shipping systems already available for its FedEx Express and FedEx Ground services. The company said the move would simplify the shipment preparation process for its less-than-truckload customers, while also providing easier access to its Ground and Express services.

FedEx Freight has been added to the company’s FedEx Ship Manager software, designed mainly for small and medium-sized retailers and manufacturers to help manage multiple freight shipments.

For high-volume customers, FedEx Web Services and FedEx Ship Manager Server are available to integrate the company’s electronic shipping solutions into existing customised shipping management software.

The company said its FedEx Ship Manager users could now use a combined address book for their Freight, Express and Ground shipments.

The services can generate shipping reports and provide email alerts regarding the status of shipments.

Bill Logue, FedEx Freight president and CEO said the addition of electronic services was all about improving customer service.

“We are confident that by offering FedEx Ship Manager software, FedEx Ship Manager Server and FedEx Web Services to FedEx Freight customers, we are pursuing our goal to be the premier service provider in the LTL marketplace,” he said.
