EMS Garantpost is to invest $5 mil in development of its capacity

EMS Garantpost (Moscow, Russia), the biggest Russian operator of express mail services, has intention to invest $5 mil in development of its capacities. It is supposed that the company will build new mail processing center, purchase new technological equipment and created additional jobs. Up to now EMS Garantpost has already spent $20 mil to improve quality and variety of services in Russia. According to some experts, some 240,000 express mail items are being delivered in Russia monthly. With an average cost of one shipment of $20 the Russian market of express mail services could be estimated at $57.6 mil a year. EMS Garant is responsible for 43% in the Russian market of express mail services providing services with a total value of $25 mil a year. Processing 120,000-150,000 items per month EMS Garantpost is accountable for 60% of total shipments. Experts admit that rates of EMS Garantpost are by 30% lower than prices of other major operators of express mail services in Russia. EMS Garantpost was registered in 1990 as a joint Russian-French joint venture enterprise. At present the company has offices in 87 regions of the Russian Federation.
