Post Danmark ready to become public limited company followed by privatisation

Post Danmark, Denmark’s national postal service, is ready to be transformed into a public limited company, followed by a privatisation and participation in a joint venture or a merger with for example a foreign postal and parcel company, daily Jyllands-Posten reported.

Chief executive officer at Post Danmark, Helge Israelsen declined to set a date for when the postal services can become a limited company and added this was a political decision, the newspaper reported.

“But it can happen with very short notice and we will under no circumstances put obstacles in the way,” Israelsen said to Jyllands-Posten.
