Australia Post and Qantas alliance launches StarTrack brand

Australian Air Express and Star Track Express have launched their new joint door-to-door express parcels, freight and logistics company StarTrack. The new brand comprises the retail divisions of Australian Air Express and Star Track Express, and comes backed by their parent companies and strategic partners Australia Post and Qantas.

StarTrack operates out of 57 branch facilities around Australia with a fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles, handling around 1m parcels across the country each week.

Stephen Cleary, the chief executive officer of StarTrack, said the company was launching itself with a tagline of ‘When service matters’, which he said would make the firm’s intention’s clear.

“It’s not only the greater capacity and network that sets StarTrack apart from the rest – it’s also our commitment to service excellence,” he said.

“At StarTrack we care about service and our people. We know that our people and our service culture are why customers love working with us. We will continue to provide a premium service and be recognised as market leaders in our industry”, he said.

Shareholders of Australia Post and Qantas decided last May to restructure their joint ventures and integrate the retail door-to-door business of Star Track Express and Australian Express, to combine the two companies’ “extensive” road and air freight networks.

Australian Air Express said the transfer of its door-to-door business to StarTrack would now allow it to focus on its core business of air freight.

“As the premier independent provider of airport-to-airport and cargo handling freight services, AaE has consolidated for the future and is looking forward to continuing to provide our customers with an exceptional airfreight service. We look forward to updating you soon with more news to help make your airfreight movements even easier,” the company said in a statement yesterday.
