Automation specialist Prime Vision expands in South-East Asia

Mail processing automation specialist Prime Vision has established a new South East Asian Office in Taiwan to expand the company’s presence and support in the region. The Holland-based company said the increasing standard of living and higher levels of disposable income in Asia was creating a “burgeoning” domestic market for shipment of consumer goods, particularly products sold via the Internet and TV shopping channels.

The resulting parcel traffic is creating opportunities for Prime Vision’s ParcelMatch and LogisticsMatch suite of products, the company said.

The products aim to boost productivity and efficiency for Asian manufacturing and logistics companies taking advantage of the boom in consumer demand.

The region’s companies will now have direct access to Prime Vision’s Competence Centre customer support division for its recognition technology and automation systems.

Prime Vision has appointed Chris Leon to head up its new operation in Taiwan. A native of the UK, Leon has been resident in Taiwan for almost two years.

Leon said: “Faster manual data entry and improved accuracy are key areas where Prime Vision can provide expertise and solutions. Performance and cost advantages of automation can be clearly demonstrated from Prime Vision installations throughout the world and I’m really looking forward to bringing these benefits to Asian businesses.”

Prime Vision, which has its head office in Delft, near the Hague, has been in the business of automating mail processing since spinning out of the National Postal and Telecommunications Corporation (PTT) in the Netherlands in 1956.
