Alan Gershenhorn Named UPS Canada President

United Parcel Service (NYSE:UPS) today
announced that Alan Gershenhorn, a 23-year veteran of UPS, has been promoted
to president of UPS Canada. Gershenhorn, will be responsible for all UPS
operations in Canada, where UPS has been operating since 1975.
In his new role, Gershenhorn will draw on his extensive experience to
drive UPS Canada as an enabler of global commerce.
"Understanding the complexities of international trade is paramount in
business today," says Gershenhorn. "Given our extensive capabilities in cross
border shipping, customs brokerage and supply chain management, my primary
goal will be to help customers in Canada realize greater business potential by
tapping the right resources," says Gershenhorn.
"Alan is well-positioned to drive growth and performance of the Canadian
operations, with his wide-ranging experience and leadership in corporate
strategy and worldwide operations," says Ron Wallace, president, UPS

increasing responsibility in operations, engineering and marketing. His
assignments have taken him to the United States, Germany, and to Canada where
he served as vice-president of Marketing and later as vice-president of
Operations. He was instrumental in launching a variety of new products and
services designed to facilitate domestic and cross border trade for
businesses.

Strategy Group, Mr. Gershenhorn was responsible for the global retail strategy
and operations including over 70,000 access points. He also managed the global
transition and integration of recently acquired Mail Boxes Etc., Inc. In 1999,
as vice-president of UPS International Marketing, his responsibilities
included worldwide products, global e-commerce, global revenue management,
international brand communications and corporate international marketing
liaison to region offices in Europe, Asia Pacific, Americas and Canada.
Gershenhorn replaces Scott Corrigan, who has accepted an assignment as
region manager of UPS's Midwest region based in Columbus, Ohio. Corrigan will
be responsible for the geographical areas of Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky with
approximately 25,000 employees.
