Swiss Post scraps changes to international parcel pricing
Swiss Post said last week it has decided not to simplify its international parcel pricing system, and raise prices in the process. The postal operator said it had reached a mutual solution with its price supervisor.
Swiss Post had postponed its proposed changes from April 1 after objection from the regulator about changes for international deliveries for private customers.
It had wanted to reduce the number of country zones for the pricing of its international parcels for individuals from five zones to three. The changes would have affected PostPac, International Priority and Economy services.
Reducing the number of country zones would have simplified the product range, Swiss Post said, but would also have resulted in price changes.
In a statement, Swiss Post said it had now definitely decided against the changes.
Swiss Post will also be offering its Maxi letter international service for private customers only in combination with its Registered Mail service.
