DHL Raises Rates on U.S. Products

DHL Worldwide Express Inc will boost the rates on its U.S. express products by four percent, effective February 3, a spokeswoman said over the weekend. ‘We’re raising rates due to overall cost increases in the transportation industry,’ said Tracy Egan, a DHL spokeswoman at its San Francisco headquarters. The price increases relate to documents originating or entering the United States, she said. It includes International Document Express, which involves non-dutiable items, Worldwide Priority Express, which has dutiable items, and USA Overnight, which is for domestic documents, Egan said. The rate increase also applies to Import Express, which is for documents coming into the U.S., she said. DHL last raised prices a year ago, Egan said.
