£120 million Saab contract for Exel

Exel has won a £120 million 10 year logistics contract from Saab, following an earlier relationship where Exel controls wheel assembly, warehousing and sequencing operations for the automotive company. The new contract includes receiving, storing, sequencing and delivery on behalf of 20 Saab suppliers, at the supplier park in Trollhattan, Sweden.
Exel will use its proprietary system Glupex, which receives and translates sequencing signals from assembly plant, creates sequencing and container labels, distributes pick assignments, and monitors communication from the plant.

Exel won the contract following competitive tender.
