Tesco awards Tibbett & Britten retail logsitics contract

TESCO’S new UKPd45m ambient food distribution centre at Thurrock has been officially opened by IT & logistics director Philip Clarke, together with John Harvey, chairman of Tibbett & Britten Group, and mayor of Thurrock Barrie Lawrence.

Tibbett & Britten Retail Logistics has been awarded a three-year UKPd60m contract to operate the facility. It is also providing secondary distribution to around 100 Tesco stores across the south east. The centre can store up to 45,000 pallets of goods and handle some 130 million cases/year.
