Clarks uses CollectPlus stores for Click and Collect offering

UK retail parcel network CollectPlus has formed a partnership with footwear manufacturer Clarks that will allow it to offer “Click and Collect” services to consumers. CollectPlus now has a network of 5,000 convenience stores and filling stations that allows consumers to pick up parcels.

Clarks has become the first dedicated footwear brand to allow customers to pick up their purchases through CollectPlus outlets.

It means customers that do not live near any of Clarks’ more than 400 shops will be able to make purchases online, tracking their parcel and collecting it more conveniently.

Clarks operations manager said CollectPlus was an “obvious choice” as a partner, since the company’s network was growing at “great pace”.

“Our customers rely on us for quality and stylish shoes for the whole family, and now with CollectPlus, we’re making it even easier for them to collect this season’s selections at a location best suited to them.

Network

CollectPlus, which is joint-owned by parcel carrier Yodel and retail payment company PayPoint, said 87% of the UK’s online shoppers now live within a mile of one of its stores in urban areas, with 88% of people in rural areas within five miles of an outlet.

The network has grown by more than a quarter in the past year, and provides Click and Collect services for retailers ranging from Amazon and House of Fraser to ASOS and Very.co.uk.

The company said that using the CollectPlus network and its tracking capabilities, Clarks would be able to “comprehensively” assess its regional uptake, determining consumer demands in different areas of the UK.

Mark Lewis, the CollectPlus chief executive, said the heart of the service was providing “efficient, flexible and reliable delivery and returns”.

“By giving Clarks’ customers greater ease and flexibility of additional touch points, we are together offering added convenience and greater choice in their shopping experience,” said Lewis.
