Bangladeshi GPO expands email facilities
Considering the growing demand from the clients, Postal Department has decided to expand its newly introduced e-mail service to the country’s 64 district post offices.
Post and Telecommunication Minister Barrister M Aminul Huq disclosed this while addressing the annual conference of officials of Postal Department at GPO auditorium here today, said an official handout.
The Postal Department has to compete with the private courier services in view of the free market economy, he said adding the department should provide improved service to the clients to survive in the competition.
Lying emphasis on sincerity and honesty of all level employees of the department for its modernisation, the minister said there is a common allegation that letters and drafts send from abroad are often missed or stolen.
He gave directives to the Postal Department to take action against such incidents after proper investigation into the allegations.
Presided over by DG of the Postal Department M Saiful Huda, the conference was also addressed by Post and Telecommunication Secretary Omar Farooque.
