UPS launches morning LTL delivery service in United States

UPS will be launching a new less-than-truckload freight delivery service in the United States next month, which offers a guaranteed morning delivery slot. The new UPS Freight LTL Guaranteed A.M. service will begin on 2nd January, 2013, delivering shipments before noon to select ZIP codes within the US, other than Alaska and Hawaii.

UPS said the new service would mean customers don’t have to wait for shipments, and can “better plan their workdays”.

Jack Holmes, the UPS Freight president, said: “In today’s competitive market, customers often need parts, equipment and products earlier than the end of the day.

“Shippers need to know that parts, equipment or products will reach their customers right when they need them, not hours later.”

UPS said the service would mean shippers can obtain rates and request shipment the same time they process their daily shipments through UPS shipping systems.

The service is available through the UPS WorldShip 2013, UPS Internet Shipping, UPS CampusShip and My LTL Freight platforms.

The new service comes with tracking, which shippers and their customers can check through the UPS online tracking system and Quantum View Manage.

“Our latest shipping option ensures that UPS Freight’s LTL portfolio offers a delivery guarantee for every shipping need, whether it’s urgent or simply day-definite,” Holmes said. “UPS Freight strives to ensure that goods are delivered door-to-door in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.”
