DFDS Transport builds UK Project Division

DFDS Transport (UK), one of the fastest-growing transport companies in the UK, has expanded its dedicated project division with the appointment of two project freight specialists with combined experience of more than 45 years. (3/21/2002)

Roy Brandley and Mike Webb join DFDS’s project division as Manager of UK Projects and Development Manager respectively. Both will be based at Bradford in the UK and report to Hugh Burnham, Managing Director of the company’s Intercontinental Division.

Hugh Burnham said: ” DFDS already has a substantial project cargo business with major customers in industries such as construction and wind farm technology. In the UK we see significant potential to grow our project services and the appointment of Roy and Mike provides the added expertise and focus we need to support this.

“We will be working with a wide range of industries that regularly need the services of project forwarding experts, including the petrochemical, power generation and engineering sectors. We are confident that DFDS’s existing global network and multi-modal services provide an excellent platform to meet the full range of customer needs in project forwarding.”
