TPG parcel plan under fire

The Dutch trade union CNV-CFO has criticised TPGs plans to create a new business unit for its parcel services. It claims that by transferring 2,500 employees from the postal workers labour agreement to a road transport agreement, TPG would put them on less favourable terms.
TPG says it can only respond to the changing marketplace by establishing an independent unit. There is free competition in the Netherlands at weights of more than 100g and the group wants its parcels arm to deliver small packages now delivered by postmen.
CNV-CFO fears TPGs plans will change employment conditions for the whole parcel sector.
