Wincanton wins Kuwait contract

Kuwait Petroleum has awarded Wincanton a contract for the UK distribution of its petroleum products. The 5 year deal, valued at £3.5m per year, expands Wincantons existing client portfolio in the petroleum sector, which already consists of Texaco, Tesco and Elf.
A flet of 29 vehicles will deliver to Q8 customers, which includes more than 400 retail sites. Meanwhile, 49 drivers from Exel Tankfreight, te previous contractor, transferred to Wincanton under the Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment Regulations (TUPE).
Business unit director for petroleum services at Wincanton, Jon Hyatt says “Through our shared management resources in Avonmouth we have built up a good knowledge of the market and look forward to making a real difference for Q8 Petroleum.
