Mothercare and T&B agree terms
An undisclosed settlement has been agreed between Tibbett & Britten and Mothercare over the performance of the formers Daventry warehouse which left some Mothercare stores without crucial product lines over Christmas.
Neither side will confirm how big the settlement is, but it is thought to run into millions. Mothercare announced an exceptinal charge of $4.1m in November to cover the costs of temporary warehousing and deliveries direct from suppliers to stores because of problems at the Daventry site and since then has suffered a 5.9% fall in sales to January 11.
A spokeswoman at Mothercare says the “hugely disappointing “ sales over Christmas were a result of difficulty in getting some products to stores. T&Bs John Harvey says the operation is now “meeting all performance criteria“.
