Maersk links with Emirates

Maersk Logistics has signed a “global mutual support“ agreement with Emirates SkyCargo. The move is part of plans by Maersk Logistics (ML) to expand its air freight forwarding services and reputation which it sees as crucial to its position as an integrated global logistics provider.
ML will gain access to capacity and flexibility in return for its freight volumes.
Soren Brandt, global CEO and MD of ML said “By joining forces with Emirates SkyCargo we are demonstrating our growing focus on air freight capabilities. Top of the line services require a tight mesh of sea and air capabilities and we are committed to providing best in class air freight service for time sensitive shipments.
