DP ups equity in French parcel unit

Deutsche Post World Net is planning to further increase the equity capital of its French parcel delivery unit, Ducros Euro Express.
In December 2001, the German postal operator injected Euro 24.5m to enable Ducros to continue upgrading its operating facilities. The company has a network of around 50 depots in France.
A Ducros spokesperson, based at the companys headquarters in Marseille, confirmed that further re-capitalisation was scheduled to take place in March, but could not comment on the amount. This would be used to speed the integration of the Euro Express network in France.
Ducros Euro Express and its subsidiary units posted a 2000 turnover of around Euro 290m. Ducros was acquired by Deutsche Post in December 1998. Euro Express has 11 partner companies in Europe, operating in 18 countries.
