Yodel appoints Nick Porter to lead Sales and Marketing

Yodel, the UK parcel carrier, has appointed Nick Porter as its new sales and marketing director. The role will see him head up Yodel’s sales, account management and marketing functions. Nick joined Yodel this month from Rentokil Initial, where he was group sales director. He has previously held senior international commercial roles at TNT Express and information protection and storage specialist, Iron Mountain. A non-executive director and trustee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Nick was named as one of the world’s top 50 digital and ecommerce professionals by international research and training group Econsultancy.com last year.

Yodel, was created through the acquisition of DHL Domestic by Home Delivery Network in 2010. The carrier delivers over 135 million parcels on behalf of the UK’s top retailers and offers a wide range of services. Last year it launched a new international proposition, to support retailers in their cross border expansion, and its first door to door consumer service, YodelDirect, aimed at SMEs and online marketplace sellers.

Commenting on the appointment, Dick Stead, Yodel’s executive chairman, said; “Nick brings a wealth of experience in sales and marketing and the carrier industry and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Nick Porter added: “Yodel presents some exciting challenges and I’m looking forward to working with the team to grow the company and take the brand into the future.”
