Night Star Express achieves 10% growth in 2013

German express operator Night Star Express says it delivered more than 4.75m items last year. The achievement means more than 10% year-on-year growth for the firm, which provides next day deliveries for customers including Toyota, BMW and Iveco.

The company said growth was helped by the addition of new customers.

Night Star Express, which has a work force of 650 people and about 700, and works with 19 partner logistics operators across Germany and Europe, said the continuing development of its European links helped with its strong growth.

Chief executive Matthias Hohmann said there was a much higher demand for its “First Class” transnational overnight service for spare parts within the automotive industry.

“We were able to win some new customers last year,” said Hohmann. “We are well established as a reliable and a trustworthy business partner for our customers, operating in a flexible and customer-oriented way to provide our First Class overnight express services of the highest quality.”

Hohmann said in 2014, his company would continue to grow and planned to invest in the quality and scale of its infrastructure, its IT and fleet.

Night Star Express is owned by seven logistics companies working together to provide a single branded service.
