Geis launches parcel pickup network in the Czech Republic

The Geis Group has expanded its range of services in the Czech Republic. At the end of June, the logistics service provider, whose subsidiary Geis Parcel CZ operates one of the parcel networks in the Czech Republic, acquired a 50 percent share in e-shoppartner. As a result, Geis can now offer its customers access to the largest private parcel pickup network in the Czech republic. Following Geis’s acquisition, the parcel collection points will be renamed “Geis Points”. Geis’s Czech subsidiary, Geis Parcel CZ, will run the Geis Points together with Mediaprint & Kapa Pressegrosso spol. s.r.o. The company is the press distributor in the Czech Republic and was previously the sole owner of e-shoppartner. Overall there are currently more than 420 pickup points in the Czech Republic – in kiosks, petrol stations and small shops.

Flexible receipt of parcels

Private customers can use the Geis Points as practical alternative collection points. Anyone unable to take receipt of ordered goods at home can specify at the time of ordering that the purchases should be sent directly to a Geis Point nearby. They then have 14 days to collect the goods during the respective opening times.

1,000 Geis Points planned

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers in the Czech Republic even more service with the Geis Points,” says Daniel Knaisl, Managing Director of Geis Parcel CZ s.r.o. “In the future we want to expand the existing strong network together with Media Print & Kapa Pressegrosso. Our goal is to have 1,000 Geis Points.”

The customers of e-shoppartner – mainly online stores – will also benefit from the collaboration. In addition to the parcel service they can now access the entire range of services offered by the Geis Group, including national and international land transports, global air and sea freight, and complex contract logistics. Daniel Knaisl: “On request we can take care of the entire supply chain, including all aspects of warehousing.”
