Industry Minister opens Amazon’s new Czech fulfilment centre

The Czech Republic’s Industry and Trade Minister Jan Mládek yesterday (8 September) attended the official opening of Amazon’s new fulfilment centre in Dobrovíz, near Prague. According to a report published in the local newspaper Prague Post, the 95,000 square metre facility already has about 1,500 employees on site, although it has just begun full operations. Amazon anticipates that the centre will probably have around 2,000 permanent staff when fully completed.

The set-up for the centre has been quick: Amazon laid the cornerstone for the new facility just under one year ago, on 12 September 2014 (and Jan Mládek was the guest of honour at that ceremony too).
