InPost announces partnership with TotalErg in Italy

InPost – the e-commerce facilitator in automated parcel lockers – has announced a partnership with TotalErg, the oil and petrol company in Italy. The agreement will extend the InPost solution to a wide network of TotalErg petrol stations, with 15 locations forecast for the first phase of the project. In total up to 1,000 InPost parcel lockers will be deployed in Italy by the end of 2015. Since the beginning of 2014, the expansion of the InPost locker network in Italy has continued to accelerate and the business plan for the territory has developed with it. Recently, InPost signed a strategic agreement with TNT Express Italy, resulting in TNT providing logistic services for InPost parcel lockers in Italy. Furthermore, InPost cooperates with Banzai, the largest Italian e-commerce platform.

The partnership with TotalErg extends InPost’s primary objective to meet the needs of the Italian market.  Maurizio Libutti, TotalErg Retail Director, said, “We have decided to host InPost parcel lockers as this project is in line with our strategy to meet the needs of our 3 million customers through a broad offer of high quality services and products. It is also about developing a network of sales points taking into account the market’s development into e-commerce deliveries. Thanks to the agreement with InPost our clients will be able to receive and dispatch any product bought on-line securely, conveniently and with 24/7 availability.”

The first petrol stations to host InPost parcel lockers are situated in northern Italy, stretching from Milan to Rome, Genova and Vicenza. The introduction of the new system will provide customers benefits, including discounts on fuel and rebates through coupon codes that can be distributed directly through the parcel lockers.

“We are extremely pleased to have signed an agreement with TotalErg- a leader in the oil and petrol market- which will bring significant added value to our dynamically growing parcel locker network in Italy. The objective of this process is to become as convenient as possible for even more Italian e-shoppers. The agreement with TotalErg fits with the business strategy we initiated in the first months of this year by signing agreements with Banzai, the leader in Italian e-commerce, as well as TNT Italy- our strategic logistic operator in this country. We also hope to develop relevant sales and marketing synergies amongst our offers to increase the extent of services and products offered to our end-users.”, said Stefano Moni, CEO of InPost Italy.

In the outline of cooperation with TotalErg, InPost Parcel Lockers will be used to provide rewards for ‘Box Piu’, the customers loyalty program for customers of TotalErg petrol stations.

The InPost automated parcel machines network continues its rapid expansion elsewhere in Europe. In the UK, with over 1,000 collection points, InPost is the largest automated parcel machine operator. The service has been growing rapidly in the past 18 months with new collection points emerging at London Underground stations, retail chains such as Morrisons and Toys R Us and the addition of e-commerce and logistics partners such as MetaPack and P4D. Within two years, a planned 2,500 of these innovative terminals will also be provided in France, with Colis-Privé confirmed as a logistics partner.

The development of the InPost automated parcel machine network in Asia and the Middle East North Africa (MENA) regions is also well underway. From December 2014, the InPost parcel locker solution will be also available in Malaysia. It is expected that the national network will reach 350 terminals by 2016 and will be available in locations such as shopping malls, universities and residential areas/compounds. In the MENA region, InPost announced a joint venture with Aramex – the global provider of logistics and transportation solutions- ensuring consumers across the region and Africa access to InPost’s automated parcel machines for all e-commerce activities.

The international InPost automated parcel machine network is the largest of its kind in the world and enables the dispatch and collection of parcels. ‘Tailor-made’ InPost solutions are already operational on 22 international markets: Australia, Chile, Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, France, Malaysia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Cyprus, Slovakia, the CzechRepublic, Saudi Arabia, Columbia, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala. There are currently over 3,500 automated parcel machines based on InPost’s technology located worldwide, with plans to introduce a further 6,000 new terminals in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the MENA regions in the near future.
