‘Black Friday’ brings Yodel to a halt

Parcel-delivery company Yodel have suspended collections for two days after a massive backlog of online orders due to record sales on Black Friday. Yodel has told clients there were no collections from distribution centres yesterday and there will be no collections today too. The company aim to be up and running again by Monday giving the workers time to catch up.

In a letter sent to retailers, Yodel’s executive chairman, Dick Stead, said: “This is not a decision that we have taken lightly but one that we have had to take to protect service levels.”

Yodel works with retailers including Argos, Mamas & Papas, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Shop Direct.
