Siemens Dematic wins USD 240m contract from US Postal Service
Siemens Dematic, the automation technology arm of electronics giant Siemens, said Thursday it has won a 240-milion-dollar (250-million-euro) contract for a new mail-forwarding system from the United States Postal Services (USPS).
The system, dubbed Postal Automated Redirection System (or PARS), would initially be installed in 53 major USPS mail centres and in 40 forwarding centres, Siemens Dematic said in a statement.
The contract also included the deployment of a system for processing change-of-address forms, it added.
