TNT Argentina doubles its turnover

TNT Argentina, provider of global postal and express services, and logistics services, found a solution to improve its business during the economic crisis. This company which is owned by the Dutch company TPG, started operating in Argentina 5 years ago and it only managed positive results in 1999. This year TNT Argentina doubled its turnover of the same period in 2001. The company registered an US$8mil turnover in 2001. TNT also managed to double the number of accounts reaching 1,500 at the moment. The firm decided to invest in training its staff, and it will invest Euros400,000 in technology and services development in the next 2 years. In the last 5 years, the company invested Euros10mil in Argentina of which Euros700,000 were invested in refurbishing its plant. TNT also decided to choose the best clients who would pay on time. TNT’s call center is essential to gain clients in this market. Through its business strategy TNT managed to capture an 11% market share competing with Federal Express and DHL. Worldwide, TNT Argentina has 130,000 employees, 19,000 vans and 61 aircraft.
