GERMAN LOGISTICS: ROAD MAKES UP 80% OF TRANSPORTED WEIGHT

Jun 28, 2002 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) — Road carries the most tonnes in the German transportation industry. About 80% of goods are transported by road in German. Rail transports 8% of tonnes. Rail plays a greater role in the transportation of goods in Germany than in many other European countries. This is due to geographical, political and environmental reasons.
