TPG says 'unlikely' to bid for Consignia's German Parcel

TPG NV is “unlikely” to enter talks to acquire Consignia PLC’s German Parcel unit, spokesman Tony Danby said.

Die Welt reported earlier that TPG and KastadtQuelle AG are interested in acquiring the loss-making unit.

Danby noted that, while the company normally does not comment on press speculation, such a takeover is not much of a possibility.

“It is pretty unlikely we would be involved in such talks (to acquire German Parcel),” the TPG spokesman said. “As we’ve stated previously, we do not really have ambitions in the parcel market.
