TNT Express outlines expansion plans for European network

TNT Express, the world’s leading business-to-business express delivery company today outlined its European network expansion plans over the next three years. At a briefing in London, Alan Jones, Group Managing Director TNT Express, announced plans to open twelve jet stations that will increase the number of airports used in Europe by TNT Express from 55 to 67 and extend the TNT Express road network to an additional seven countries.

Alan Jones commented: “These expansion plans underpin our aim to provide the fastest and most reliable express delivery service. We want to build on our leading position in Europe and be recognised as the best company in the door to door express delivery industry.”

The network expansion programme concentrates on the three essential areas of road, air and sortation facilities. There will be further investments in the TNT Express European Express Hub in Liège, Belgium and at the European road hub in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The bulk of the investment at Liège will go into improving ‘end of sort’ times to improve door to door delivery performance. Investments at Arnhem will increase capacity in line with customer demand for services provided by the company that already offer the fastest transit times by road in Europe and reach more countries than any other road express delivery operator.

Alan Jones ended the briefing today by saying: “Satisfying customer needs through outstanding service quality is the key to our success and has helped us to quadruple our profits in the last three years. We extract time from processes and by using this approach have improved our on time delivery performance by 3% to over 99% within the TNT Express pan-European network. In addition, our global strategy to provide the world’s leading business-to-business express delivery service has helped to increase the number of customers trading with TNT Express by 30% in the last three years.”
