DHL adds carbon reporting function to its shipment management tool

DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL Group, has added a carbon reporting feature to its web-based customer platform, DHL Interactive (DHLi). According to DHL, the reports are calculated based on the latest carbon-reporting guidelines on transportation and include CO2 emission data based on the valid European Norm (EN16258) as well as a recent, standard setting French Decree (No. 2011:1336).

“We see more and more legislation requiring an increased focus on environmental factors. With our CO2 reporting capabilities we provide the needed transparency for our customers to be prepared for the changing market requirements. Track & trace, as well as carbon reporting have been in place before, however, we now combine both in one view, which makes DHL Interactive particularly strong and valuable in making our customers’ supply chains more efficient,” said Michael Young, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Sales, DHL Global Forwarding.
