Canadian logistics company Manitoulin extends coverage
Manitoulin has bought Saskatoon-based Ridsdale Transport to expand its coverage in the province of Saskatchewan. The acquisition will make Manitoulin the largest transportation and logistics provider In Saskatchewan.
Established in 1949, Ridsdale Transport has an extensive less-than-truckload (LTL) service in the Saskatchewan market and also operates in Alberta and Manitoba. The company has more than 200 Saskatchewan points of service via scheduled LTL and truckload (TL) lanes, as well as a dedicated expedited pickup and delivery service to meet non-scheduled transportation requirements.
Ridsdale Transport also provides courier services and other specialized service offerings, including warehouse storage, container service and contracted transportation.
Ridsdale Transport will operate as a separate business unit within the Manitoulin Group of Companies under the leadership of Greg Ridsdale, vice-president. Wayne Ridsdale, the former president of Ridsdale Transportation Ltd., will remain in a consulting role.
